Our Impact Goal and Funding Priorities

The primary goal of The HealthCare Foundation for Orange County is to improve the health of underserved women and children in Orange County. Specifically, we fund projects, programs, collaborative initiatives that do one or more of the following:

  • Remove barriers to healthcare
  • Address community health priorities and delivery system gaps

Areas of Focus and Timeline

To qualify for a grant, your organization must be either a 501(c)(3) community-based organization or a 501(c) (3) nonprofit hospital. We highly encourage collaboration between qualifying hospitals and community-based organizations.

Funds for our annual grant making activities draw on the proceeds of the sale of United Western Medical Centers to a nonprofit hospital and are intended to continue the charitable legacy of United Western Medical Centers and their nonprofit community partners in central Orange County.

Timeline

Request for Application Opens: 8 am (Pacific Time) on August 12, 2026

Applications Due: No later than 5 pm (Pacific Time) on September 11, 2026

DEADLINE CLOSED SEPTEMBER 11, 2026

Awards will be announced on or before November 17, 2026

Grantee Gathering & Funding Release: Award recipients will be invited to a Grantee Gathering on December 2, 2026. Grant funds will be released upon receipt and approval of all required documentation.
